Is my math wrong or is it too late to start tomato seeds for the fall garden? Another forum thinks so. :( I am on the border of zone 7 and 8 just south of Burleson Texas.

Seeds are cheap. Go ahead and try it. If you go ahead and plant, they will germinate in 1-2 weeks if conditions are good. Let them stay in pots until they are about six inches tall, then transplant. Put cages or other frames around them covered with window screen material to provide some shade and shelter until it starts to cool of a little in September. You can likely have tomatoes before first freeze, and if you don't have any that are ripe, pick the green ones that have some size and let them ripen inside. It works just fine.
