We have recently moved to Merritt island, Florida from Texas and the noseeum bites are much worse than mosquitoes. What is the best organic repellent for these little creatures. Each bite takes days to heal and nothing really works to control the itch. :x

To start I would scroll down the "M" page to the various mosquito repellent suggestions in the Natural Organic Library. Those topic offerings won't hurt and might just help. There are quite a few testimonials in the forum (you'll have to search on keywords or read through forum questions) for mixes that repel lots of types of bugs.

If these noseeums are occurring around your home it might help if you describe the ground cover, shrubs, moist areas, etc., - if you can tell what kind of environment seems to harbor them someone might suggest a treatment. Do they seem to hatch in the lawn or in mulch or larger plants? And when - dusk? Or some other time?

I control the itch with these dog itch wipe sheets. I get them at Walmart. The ingredients are aloe vera, comfrey, and witch hazel. I can't exactly call them a miracle, but they do stop the itch for me.
