I have a white residue on some of my crape myrtles. What is it and how to treat. I am limited in my application ability as I'm disabled.
Second seven of my eight blue junipers had the leaves turn brown in varying amounts. Three turned completely brown. I had my yard man scrape all the dead foliage off about three weeks ago hoping that would encourage new growth. So far no results. Is this the result of a fungus, drought or what? What further treatments or is all lost on those infected?

We need some more information:

Where are you? How is the drainage in your yard and is it sunny or shaded? Do you use or have you used chemical fertilizers, or has anyone used "weed and feed" on it in recent times?

Can you post photos of the yard in general and the plants in particular? Any closeups of the white "residue?"

I'm guessing, with what you've told us, that there might be scale on your crape myrtle and the juniper got hit by a chemical or is root bound or in a poor drainage area. But photos would help, if your yard guy can take them for you and you post them in this thread.

I live in country outside of Brownwood TX. The crape myrtles are in a organically prepared be that includes mostly roses. Only organic fertilizers are used. Rabbit Hill roses food is used on roses.
The junipers are along a pasture fence line and nothing has been used on the pastures in recent months.
Both areas are well drained although we have had more rain than normal with really hot temps. between rains.
I'll try to get some photos in addition.

How did you send them? It's best to post images in the discussion thread - if you don't know how I can add them, but I have no idea where they are.

I've done a couple of screenshots. They need to be stored someplace on your computer where you can find them.

Once they are uploaded you need to place your cursor on the message where you want the photo to appear, and click the "place inline" button, then use the drop down arrow to find the next images and again, place the cursor where you want and click "place inline." If you leave some space between each line (as you see here) and put some text in, they are separated on the resulting post and easier to figure out. I loaded then came back to edit this. If you post a full-sized image it will become a huge photo on the page, so if you can reduce the size to smaller than your computer screen, that's helpful. A fast way, without extra software, is to use the Microsoft Snipping tool (Go to your start button, go to Accessories, and scroll down to Snipping Tool.) If you load the image into your computer then view it on the screen, you can quickly capture the image with the snipping tool. Save it and load THAT into the message and you won't have the problem of loading a raw file that is too large.

I hope this helps.
