Is there a rule of thumb as to the water requirements of Pecan trees?I know that a mature pecan tree can use 100 gal.a day in the summer months. What about trees 1'' 2'' 3'' in dia. and so on. Any help will be appreciated.

Is this a new-planted tree (in the last 12 months) ? If so, it'll need just a bit more water than you normally give your lawn there. Water its root zone and the surrounding area a bit extra that first year.

If it's established, I'd be surprised if it needs more than just the normal watering approach, at least at that young size.
