First let me say that I truly enjoy this site and appreciate all the time put in by the moderators. The amount of information is truly amazing.
I intend to follow Garrett's guide to roses beginning next season (March for my zone 7).  I'm in southern Tennessee, where we are in the 60's daily and 47 at night. My garden is organic, and I mix up my own teas and amendments. I have a 10 year old compost pile, used in the gardens and replenished.
My question regards what to use for overwintering bad insects and fungi. I've been using corn meal happily. I want to get a jump on the bad guys before the growing season begins. Some folks recommend using lime sulfur now to kill spores. Just wondering what your thoughts are about winter treatments.
