Hello: The bugs are quite small, flat, move fast, and look black towards the end and redddish brown near the head, or it could be vice-versa. The holes they make are like perfect small nail holes. I have several trees that we notices are dying. We moved into the home only one year ago. I am from Rhode Island, so I only think it is a Texas Oak. My husband thinks this as well.

If it is any consolation to you, I don't think you did anything to the trees in less than a year that could invite these unwanted guests. These trees have likely been real sick for a long time.

Here's what I would do. I would look at Howard's Sick Tree Treatmentelsewhere on this website and follow that to the letter. It might seem a little expensive but compared to calling in someone else to do the job, it is not. Besides, Howard's treatment works while most other treatments do not work. When you spray the Garrett Juice, be sure you cover the entire tree including bark from the ground up. And I would up the spray to twice a month from once a month.
