Last year I made the mistake of fertilizing (yes, high N, non-organic) in Sept. and my St. Aug. was taken over by Brown Patch. I applied corn meal at 20 lbs./1000 and sprayed a baking soda w/oil spray. The areas didn't recover I think because it was so late in the growing season. The grass is now starting to green a little, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't come back and that those bad areas will green up. Any thing else I should do now that it is Spring?

So far, in the past couple weeks, I have added 20lbs./1000 green sand and same for lava sand. I also applied Garden Ville Organic fertilizer along with a Bio Inoculant.

Thoughts??

Use corn meal without the baking soda. Baking soda is a non selective antifungal that might work against the corn meal. Corn meal works by developing fungi that attack the disease fungi. If you kill all the fungi with baking soda, you have defeated the effect of the corn meal.
