Is is possible to grow olive trees in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area? If so, where can I find some to buy. Thanks.

I cannot say that I've ever seen one for sale here.
That's not to say they won't grow for sure.

I don't know if they would grow around here or not, but the people to ask would be my suppliers of olivewood. If they can't give you the answers you're looking for, they will surely know who can.
As a branch stops producing in the orchard, it is removed and this is where all of the wood supplied by this company comes from. No trees are cut down for lumber. I was surprised when I started doing business with them by how old an olive tree can be. (up to 2,000 years)

Good Luck,

I have seen them in Austin at The Natural Gardener in Oak Hill, if you are ever down that way. The nursery is a great visit whether you find your trees or not...butterfly garden, labyrinth, burros and chickens, bulk soils, all organic. I got one olive to experiment with but it has been in the one gallon pot for a year now. I haven't found the right place for it yet. But I protected it in a semi heated greenhouse during the winter, so can't give you a definitive report yet on their hardiness. Just back from Tuscany last week and am inspired by the ancient olive groves I saw there. Brought back some of that wonderful first press olive oil. Yum. I know someone near Austin is growing olives commercially, but I've never seen one olive tree growing in Dallas.
