Part of my bermuda lawn has developed some brown patches, and they are getting progressively larger. I've noticed that the mockingbirds have been flocking to the areas and I thought I saw one pull up a white worm about 1 1/2" long.

I have used only organic fertilizers since the sod was laid 2 years ago.

Any help would be appreciated, I couldn't find this particular problem anywhere else.

You mentioned seeing a bird with a large white worm. That, along with the brown area, is a good indication of white grubs (larval stage of beetles, such as japanese beetles and junebugs). I think beneficial nematodes would be the recommendation for that.

I saw that out my window, I got down on the ground yesterday afternoon and haven't seen anything except some small brown grasshoppers.

The worm was much smaller than the grubs we have here, and they already turned into june bugs.

By the way, I grew up in Flower Mound and my parents still live there.
