We have a crepe myrtle tree that is a year and a half old. It is loosing the bark from it. The bark underneath on the tree is green.

Should we be concerned and what do we need to do. Also with all the rain and wind some of the limbs have bent and are not perking back up.

Please help!

No Problem, that is what my husband and I fell in love with.

The bark of the Crype Myrtle will shed as it gets older, and underneath
is a beautiful smooth trunk........absolutely georgeous. Reminds us of drift wood.
This is natural for all Crype Myrtles.

As for the limbs, if they are not in your way, leave them alone.
If they are in the way,,just trim them off.

Enjoy, we have 19 Crype Myrtles around our property.
All sizes and colors. Some we keep in shrub form, and others we train as trees.........we just love them. And will buy some more in the fall.
