I have a 9x9 bare patch in the front yard, and was planning on putting down St. Augustine grass this weekend to match the rest of the yard. Is it too late in the season to do this? I'm in Austin.

Thanks.

Not at all! I just laid some down 2 weeks ago, and its already starting to establish itself. In Austin you still have lots of warm weather left for it to do the same there. I recommend drip hoses for watering new sod.

You're easily fine until November. After that the dormancy of the grass will give you jitters about it being alive, but it probably is.
