If they smell like garlic or onions, they are edible but be careful. A similar looking plant called crow poison is toxic. There's a pretty good explanation of the difference in Plants for Texas book.

Go to Google and just above the line you type into you will see the word image. Click on image and then type in crow poison, you will see dozens of pictures.
