I am having a new home built. The builder is going to use soil from another new home site to back fill the yard for my new home. This soil is the standard black clay for the DFW area. I want to get my landscaping off to a good start. What should I do? I can get amended top soil from a supplier. Is it worth the expense or should I just stick with amending raised beds?

You can amend the soil yourself. If you do not wish to do this, you can get great products, many different soil types for different applications from Soil Building Systems. http://www.soilbuildingsystems.com/
Tell them Nadine sent you.

I am not affiliated with the company, I am just a happy (and very impressed) customer!
