Location: Argyle I was moving old rail road ties from a pasture today. Pulled one up and was attacked by some black, flying insects and stung. They chased me and were very agressive. I was stung many times. It does not feel like a wasp sting but burns a lot and leaves a whelt. They do not look like wasps. I have not been able to identify this insect. It appears they had made a nest in the rotting railroad tie. This week my horse was also stung by some flying, black bugs I could'nt get a good luck at (not flies). Does anyone have an idea what this is? Thank you!
