I'm starting a series of threads for y'all to list the places you can go to get organic products in your area. If anyone accidentally posts to the wrong city, I'll go ahead and move it to the right place (if I can). If you list a place that specialized in only one or a few organic products, please let us know. For example if a place only sells compost, we need to know not to go there for alfalfa meal or corn gluten meal.

If the numbers of visits to this thread don't warrant leaving this message near the top of the forum, then I'll take the 'sticky' off and let it drift.

I'm starting this series of threads for the bigger cities in Texas. If there is interest in other towns or cities outside of Texas, please start your own thread here and I'll put the sticky on it. If the super administrator wants to move this to a new forum, that might happen, since this is not just a lawns issue. If that happens, I'll let y'all know where to find them.

Teas Nursery on Ballair Blvd. carries Bradfield fertilizer. You should call ahead because they occasionally run out. I would like to find a more organic nursery, but have had no luck. I have found a few places to get native plants--but they aren't totally organic.

I wish we had Howard Garrett's radio talk show piped down here some way. It seems like Houston has some doors to open. - Susan

Thanks for the info on WBAP.COM....I checked it out here in Houston. We are usually at the farm on the weekends (near Weimar) and I am on a waiting list for a DSL line there.....so--this will be great! I just received today HG's latest book and it is great. Love all the pictures. - Susan

I've been listening via the web rebroadcasts for a few days and love being able to get the Dirt Doctor in Houston now.

My question is -- I haven't noticed any new updates here or a complete listing of organic nurseries or vendors here in Houston. Can you please reply with this information or point me to where to find this on the website?

Thx!

I'm up Northeast Houston and am not finding one source that carries all I need. Talked with Kingwood Garden Center (most things need to be special ordered), went to Porter to Knox Farm and Feed, they have DE and a few other things. When are we going to get something closer to us for all our Organic Needs. :x P.S. The Kingwood Garden Club goes all the way out to Nature's Way for their needs, I think that is too far to drive.

I have began using them for all of my organic needs as well as dog food. Unfortunately, I can't get Munster there, but he has lots of other holistic alternatives.

Their store is in Downtown Old Town Katy. Super, super nice guy -- very good local reference for help.

On the south end of town, Stanton's in Alvin carries an assortment of organic ammendments. Also, there is a feed store in Pearland on 35 (near McCoys, south of 518) that has some products.
