Try posting the question where it will be more easily found. This is a blog area, but if you look through the categories, you'll probably catch the eye of a compost or fish person. I'd think you could do the old "plant the fish, then the seeds" trick, but that's just a guess. I have a friend in Virginia who talks about planting a bluegill under each cluster of corn plants.

Try the Gardening and Landscaping topics, or Composting, for better access to people who might use fish like you describe.

Good luck.

So, what was it that the native Indians taught the Pilgrims about putting fish in the ground near where they also placed their corn seeds ? Hmm ?

Well, in those days they did not have concerns about "freezer-burned fish", and I'm sure they placed the entire fish in the ground.

You probably have nicely filleted pieces without much of the bones and surely none of the guts, etc.

But, go ahead and try it anyway. Do a fish / no-fish controlled growing experiment with some sweet corn.....and come back in August and tell us how it went !
