Are we unintentionally harming our children?

Organic playing fields are possible.

Alternatives to pesticides.

What can you do?

here we go !
I am new to this site and the whole organic side of life,, however, i have been using 2,4-D (the industries standard and also your aformentioned forbidden chemical ) since i started working for the local weed dept. in 1983 or so. After reading to the second sentence in the article you referred to and the mistake that 2,4-D being used post-emergence for crabgrass and if that wasnt enuf , dandelion SEED ! I could not focus on the 3rd sentence or any sentence thereafter without thinking , "how many other mistakes are herein? "
In the mid 80's i was attending classes provided for further ed in holding a applicators lics. One of ethe speakers was a doctor from the Nat. Cancer Institute. He shared all of the studies at the time concerning 2,4-D and the links to Non-Hodg-Lymphoma and the tests they conducted on the farmers who had used it.
My only Question to him was how he could distinguish the fact 2,4-D actually was the culprit as every farmer with NHL or not could be found elbow deep in grease , used motor oil, and Lord knows what all else ,,,, DAILY,,,( i am farm raised ,,, i know )
His test subjects literally swim in known carcongenes , DAILY!
I couldnt listen anymore !
His answer was that " He could not pinpoit with certainty what has caused a certain percentage of users to acquire NHL."
After over 25 years,,,, I want to use less synthetic pesticides...
I would love to not use any at all...
I turn to this website for information how to do that. I would love info on the harmful effects of pesticides, but it has to be accurate, or it means nothings more than mabe just bash a chemical giant.
Our battle should be fought on making the Organic flame brighter rather than trying to blow out the chemical flame,,,, I dont believe i will live to see that done.
Somebody teach me how you are making larger volumes of tea than 5 Gal. buckets !!!

Respectfully,

arlie
