Bermuda seems to grow well in my veggie garden--any time of the year
. Who needs a gym, when you have bermuda invasion? I'm in the Dallas area.
I don't know where you live? If further South, the sod might have time to establish. We had to take a tree down, and my husband had placed sod on it, that was not doing well at all. I put some home brewed vermicompost tea on it, and it greened and flourished in just a couple of days. My guess is with a new build, the yard has been "scraped". There won't be much in the way of living organisms left in those areas--a good brew of compost tea with molasses might get your sod/yard established with some beneficial micro-organisms and faster, stronger root health and growth. Apply it on top of the sod, in the evening, for best results.
