The Sierra Club is sponsoring a web site to post Farmers Markets all over the U.S. on their map. You might want to check it out or add any that they don't have listed yet.

White Rock Local Market this weekend, the City staff will be there to check out the market and it would be wonderful to show how many support urban agriculture and local shopping.

Texas Worm Ranch will be there!

White Rock Local Market this weekend, last one until March, lots of organic and local growers and artisan goods and gifts too.

Texas Worm Ranch, www.txwormranch.com , is going to miss this month--the kiddos and holidays and gardens and worms have me too busy! However, I do plan to go shop and have fun with all the wonderful neighbors and vendors for a bit.

In other news, there is to be a Dallas City Hall meeting on Dec. 14th, 2pm, regarding the City's future decisions, policies, etc. regarding BOTH LOCAL MARKETS AND COMMUNITY GARDENS.
Stay tuned, I will update when I have more info.

Good! And be sure to let Howard know, if he doesn't already, so he can have some input or encourage interested gardeners to participate in the meeting.

The meeting is still scheduled for Monday December 14th, 2pm,(I'll get room number for you) and unless something drastic happens soon, neighborhood markets and community gardens are on the agenda. The meeting is with the Transportation and Environment committee.

Attendance is encouraged to stay informed: http://www.ci.dallas.tx.us/cso/calendar ... ndar.shtml

The Observer has a true to life recap of the crazy meeting. Fiction wouldn't read better:
