Edible Earth Resources is a full service consulting firm and installation team chartered with the mission of aiding customers in the quest to produce their own sustainable food.

We are currently based in Houston and this posting is for work in the houston metro area.

We do everything needed for our customers (usually urban and suburban) to successfully grow their own food. We even help with the cooking side (through recipes, etc.). Our main focuses are on veggie/herb bed building, fruit tree planting and composting. We are educators, taking seriously our mission to spread truth about food production. The dollar isn't our only motivation (though it sure makes it easier).

We're looking to put together an installation crew of a couple of able bodied folks that will work under my guidance. Here is the skinny:

You don't need to know anything about anything. You just need to be interested and ready to learn about sustainable food production. However, knowledge is a plus, and will increase your starting pay (compensation commensurate with capability). We are good employers, we care about our employees, we want you to grow in skill, knowledge, responsibility and compensation. If you do a good job and because of that we're making more money, so will you.

All we are able to offer at the moment is sporadic work, probably just 2-7 days a month (we are flexible on the workdays). We are both working full time jobs while we start and grow this business. Hopefully by spring we will be able to make the job more regular (20-30 hrs/wk), and continue growing from there to full time.

The actual work will include:

Digging
Weeding
Pruning
Using power equipment
Carrying heavy bags and plants
Respecting our clients property
Communicating professionally with our clients
Planting seeds, transplants, and trees
Limited Woodworking
Rainwater collection installation

If you get the job, and work hard, as we hire more crew members we will be looking for crew leaders, and there is even the possibility of working into your own franchise.

Contact: Scott (AT) EdibleEarthResources.com with a short paragraph of why you would want the job, your phone number, and a good time to call for a phone interview.
