Hi. Just wanted to let you know about my experience with painting my short overhang blue (I learned about it from your radio show). In short, it works.

I typically don't worry about the wasp nests and mud dauber "houses", bcz they've never been a problem. However, I decided to try the blue paint bcz my pet sitter was afraid of the wasps.

1st I cleared the wasp nests in the winter. Before I could get the painting done a small new nest was underway. So I painted the underside of the overhang - painting to within an inch or so of the new nest. Of course the wasps didn't bother me as I was painting and after a month or so they abandoned that little nest. No new ones have been started in or around the painted area - So I'd have to say this info I rec'd from the dirt doc has been an unqualified success!!

The hardest part was deciding what color to use. There is a wide range of colors suggested on the internet. I used "atmospheric blue" from sherwin williams.

Thanks for ALL you do (food safety, folk remedies, etc).

All the best,

Mary Kay
