A well-intentioned neighbor mowed down my first crop of bluebonnets. Is there anything I can do to save them?

We seeded last fall; they were coming up pretty well. I believe they were 3-4 inches tall. He mowed my yard to about 1 inch, and there's no sign of the wildflowers today.

:(

I thought I answered this, but I guess not - if they hadn't gone to seed, you'll have to reseed. You may need to stake and flag the area next year.

You're not alone - I have several friends who have to guard their wildflowers from neighbors and municipal mowers who aren't paying attention to what they're doing.
