Hello,

I am a recent new member, so if this information is already available on the Dirt Doctor site, I apologize as I must have missed seeing it.

My question is about floor care. I have been using ammonia off and on for years to clean vinyl floors. It is very inexpensive, leaves little to no residue, and makes quick work of grease and dirt. Despite its effectiveness, I cannot tolerate the smell of ammonia any longer.

Can someone suggest an effective floor cleaner alternative to Ammonia that will not leave a residue, nor any floral scents (I hate those)? I use it to clean vinyl floors.

Respectfully,
dirt_fiend

We recommend orange oil for pest control around here, but for a long time it has been used for just the kind if thing you're asking about. A couple of tablespoons in a bucket of water ought to work - but test a corner somewhere - orange oil that dilute probably isn't a problem, but full strength it can mess up plastics and some painted surfaces.

Citrus Green a quality product - there is a lot of poor quality orange oil and d-Limonene products on the market - so you need to make sure to buy a quality product:

Other sizes are available.

Yes - I should have clarified that just buying an "orange oil included" product wasn't what I meant. I use a little of the full-strength orange oil that I also use in the garden. I grew up with Spic N Span and they have an orange formula - I need to go read the bottle to see what's in it. (Orange oil is expensive!)
