Can you mix 2 oz of BIO SI and 2 oz Garrett Juice in a gallon of water and spray? Or do they have to be sprayed in separate applications.

Thanks!

So far I haven't used Bio SI, but I took at look at the information on the web site. This is a product with microbial activity for making healthier soil, so it isn't something I would be spraying in a foliar application.

As a rule of thumb, I tend not to add products with living organisms into a mix of anything that is meant to control pests, but I do mix it in with fertilizing products. So I would mix Thrive or Bt or Bio SI in with water and a liquid organic fertilizer (like fish fertilizer) or molasses, but I wouldn't add orange oil or juice from soaking corn meal, or neem, etc., that would kill the bio part of the mix. And when I use things like Thrive or when I spread beneficial nematodes, they go on the soil, not on plant leaves.

Thanks you for your quick reply. I sprayed Garrett Juice last night, but didn't mix with BIO SI.

It's funny you advised against foliar spraying with BIO SI because I heard that from the guru himself, Howard Garrett. Now I don't know what to do because you explanation seems very valid to me. Had planned on foliar spraying the BIO today. Would appreciate a quick reply.

Thanks!

We're just lumping versus sorting, I think. It won't hurt the plants to have the Bio SI, and there may be a reason I'm not aware of that Howard knows about. That's easy to do! But from the label information, it looks like a product for the soil. If the product is drying on the leaves then less gets into the soil. If you're spraying with a heavy spray so in general will hit everything and let it get dripping wet, that's different than foliar feeding with a fine spray that you apply in the early morning just to the point of moist on the leaves.

Thanks so much for you speedy reply as I'm applying the BIO SI this evening. I think since it's so expensive that I will just use it as a drench. It's bound to do some good. I do know I have the best looking trees on the block which I credit to foliar spraying and drenching last year with Garrett Juice.
