I have created an organic bed above ground with molasses, manure, compost, organic soil mix, etc. But my bed is in the middle of a yard surrounded by tall trees. I created the bed in the most open part of the yard, but that isn't saying much. The bed receives intermittent sun at all times of the day but is mostly shade. I heard Howard say that he had peppers that did well in shade. This is my second attempt. Last year, the plants did well, but the peppers didn't. I abandoned the project.
My Dad said manure might be the key, so I tried again this year. Any tips on growing hot peppers in shade? I have jalapenos, anaheims and banana peppers (planted lasted week). Watering tips would also be appreciated. I did my first watering with Garrett Juice and Thrive.
