Recently picked up a brand new baby abyssinian guinea pig along with its cage, but I haven't had time to find substrate/bedding for the cage yet. This article on guinea pig cages suggests Timothy hay, which is also the the food that should make up most of a guinea pigs diet.

Does anyone else see a problem? What if my guinea pig eats the soiled bedding? Anyone else here own guinea pigs and have a better alternative to timothy hay? Thanks
