I am spraying my yard this year (Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar) with the corn gluten formula in hopes of cutting down on the weeds. Does anyone know an easy, quick way to strain out the solids from the formula. I've used coffee filters, paper towels and today I used some muslin. It takes FOREVER. :D :) :)

Thanks!

Many people have put it in panty hose.

I no longer wear them, but I'll go buy some for this purpose and try it. Hopefully it will cut down the time.

Thanks a bunch!

This is a much better use for panty hose than wearing them!

I'm not sure what formula you're using but I've tried using CGM dust at 20 pounds per 1,000 square feet every month throughout the growing season (April through October). I did not see any reduction in weed pressure. I did have an excellent lawn that year...and the next year. In my opinion, CGM is a waste of money for weed control. But as a fertilizer it rocks!

Yes, well here it is April 7th and about three weeks ago BOOM I found out that the CGM program (which someone spoke about on Howard's weekly program last year whereby you spray the grass with the CGM liquid formula every month Oct-Feb) did not work for me this year. I have discovered Avenger which works like a charm for the broadleaf weeds. I just let the winter weeds go and mow them. My grass looks fair. (But tidy) I am very happy with Garrett Juice because my landscaping, compared to the rest of those in this three year old neighborhood, is beautiful and the plants and trees are much larger. I foliar spray and drench with GJ every month from April through September. :D
