My garden gets full sun all day. This hi 90's/100 degree heat is killing them. Would some type of covering or umbrella for that late afternoon/evening sun exposure help? Or is there something else I can do? I'm full organic. They have been fed properly and watered regularly.

I tend to let a few of the wild sunflowers grow large around the edges of my garden to offer a little shade, and if I plant the okra nearby it will do the same (but it doesn't grow as fast as sunflowers).

I don't have zucchini the whole summer for the simple reason that it is always an uphill battle with the squash vine borers. I sometimes lose them in a fell swoop, though this year I'm going out every week with a syringe and a 50/50 mix of Bt and water and injecting it into the stems, either above the granular area where the borers are at work, or directly up the stem at the borers, hoping to knock them out. Fingers crossed I get more of a crop this year.

Zucchini look awful in the middle of a hot day, but as long as they're watered adequately they spring back with the cooler times of day and overnight.

I've had squash bugs the 2 previous years, but mine are clean this year.
