Would really appreciate help identifying what I have going on in my St. Augustine. The area gets afternoon sun. There is a circular area, about 2-3 feet in diameter. It looks like a large dog lays in the same spot everyday...looks trampled, blades curling under (instead of growing straight).

You can see it in the center of that first picture (above). This pic is a close-up of the problem area.

The first picture (above) shows the area in the center of the photo.

This final picture is the area right next to the problem area. Here the grass blades stand straight.

In the problem area, they lay down and even look curled under and tangled.
