So I bought my nematodes, but the directions do not explain what the little white mesh strainer/funnel is for?

Help?

As I understand it, you're supposed to filter the mixture of nematodes and water as you pour it into your sprayer in order to prevent clogging.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Dave. I read some of the other posts further down and realized that was what it was for. Although I didn't use a sprayer. I poured directly on the mounds. Still not sure how the strainer/sprayer thing works. Are you just straining out the dirt, the nematodes make it through?

Also am I suppose to water the area after releasing the nematodes? Seems like I read that somewhere here, although the directions don't say anything about it....

Hoping to be ant free in a few days/weeks!

Thanks!

If you are doing mounds, you do not have to water. But, if you have watered for ~10 minutes, it also gives a greater area for the nematodes to possibly migrate to for longer term protection.

You also do not have to filter when doing mounds. It just removes the organic matter so it does not clog the sprayer.
