I have a theory brewing so bear with me.
If indeed this first point is fiction, not fact, then this may be pointless.
I understand that fire ants (and ants in general) do NOT like sugar (plain old white table sugar).
Basically white sugar on a fire ant mound and they move on?
Being as I am from Texas, fire ants are a determined tenANT in my yard and my compost pile! They really are determined little critters. I'll admit that I do admire their survival skills. I should know as many times as I've tried to wipe them out! LOL
Anyways, back to my point.
Would adding refined sugar to my compost help keep the fire ants out of there?
Also I assume it would heat things up a notch?
As long as it doesn't hurt my worms I'll give it a go.
Thank you!
