Hi,
We have been remodeling our house. Just yesterday we saw the painters pouring their turpentine out near a HUGE red oak tree in our backyard. Apparently, they have been doing this for several months. Is there anything we can do? How serious is this?

#1 tell them to stop doing that as they are not permitted to dispose of HAZARDOUS WASTE by pouring it in your yard. That's lazy, unsafe, and I'm sure must violate a number business practice standards.

#2 Treat the area with some zeolite and some dry horticultural molasses. Adding some activated charcoal would help too.
