I suspect it would be an expensive and slow search to find a brand of molasses that might eliminate the fire ants.
With all of the rain we have right now, the best and easiest treatment would be to use beneficial nematodes on the mounds. When you buy the package you'll see that there are two strengths and methods mentioned - the one that sends them far and wide to kill off the larval stage of beetles, ticks, fleas, and more, and there is a more dense method to use for fire ants. It has been a long time since I did the fire ant treatment and this year for the first time in probably 5 or 6 years I noticed a few coming back in a couple of places in the yard, so I'll go out and put out nematodes.
They can't be applied in direct sunlight and they need to be watered in, so do the math -- it's supposed to rain this week. Perfect timing for nematodes.
