Hello,
I would like to seed my sloaping drainage ditch with Texas wildflowers. Where can I find a bunch of seeds, when is the best time to plant them, and how is the best way to do it? I am not asking too much am I?
Jess

Try the links below. Here in Parker County, the county extension sells them for a very reasonable price (cheaper than stores). Maybe other counties do this also.

I didn't know the extension agent's office sold wildflower seeds. I've been there a couple of times and never noticed. Thanks for the tip. Another good source for wildflower seeds is Wildseed Farms in the Fredricksburg area. I buy them in bulk.

Sorry, I forgot to answer the second part of your question. As for planting time, I usually plant wildflowers in Fall, because many of them will start germinating and growing during our cold season. This seems especially important for bluebonnets. They germinate in Fall, stay alive all Winter, and are blooming now. Poppies also do well when planted in Fall.
