I just had to show everybody some of my simple photos that I have taken in the past 2 years of my no-till garden beds. This is proof of the amazing power of composting and aereated compost tea recipes.

All I use on my lawn and garden is homemade compost, various compost tea recipes, and cheap pelletized grain cattle feeds.

Nice photos. One observation...You really got dressed up to garden in 2003  I'm guessing my typical "garden wear" won't pass your dress code.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks a million for the your web address and great pictures. I added it to my organic bookmarks. I didn't think your operation was that big. Now I know. These pictures should comvince the 'non-belivers' that organic is the only way to go.
Thanks again and keep up the good work, both in your organic business and as the moderator of this excellent forum.
God bless and keep working to convert the non-belivers.

Thanks everybody!

As soon as these excessive rains and floods, slow down here in Alabama, I'm going to take some better photos of my compost piles and my raised beds.

My little daughter took most of those shots for me.

If it wasn't for my constant use of powdered sulfur, dry molasses, corn meal, and aerated teas, I would have lost all my tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants this year so far, due to the crazy weather we're getting here.

Thank God for the soil/composting microbes taking care of business for us! (LOL)

Can you tell me a little bit more about aerated compost teas? I used Mr. Garret's suggestions about soaking caladium corms in a compost "solution" (it wasn't realy a tea - as much as just water I had dumped some compost in for several hours) and those caladiums are HUGE and getting more robust every day..tell me a little about what the aeration is supposed to do, and what is the best use for these potions...
Thank you!

CaptainCompostAl I looked at all your photos and enjoyed them very much. Such beautiful plants and veggies!! I'm fairly new at composting and trying to learn all I can. You mention a lot about dry molasses and corn meal. Can all of these products be purchased at the feed store? I have used some dry sulphur and other products this year on my roses but I don't really know what I'm doing. I will say the roses look very healthy with lush green leaves and beautiful blooms this year. I'm still learnin'. :D

Yes, dry molasses powder is sold in many farm feed stores in 50 lb bags as a cattle food. If you can't find 50 lb bags of corn meal, you might can find cracked corn. If you can get the cracked corn, you can soak it, make a tea of it, and use it that too. The remains can go back to your compost pile.

Thanks so much Captain for your reply! :D I plan to go by our feed store later this week and check on the dry molasses. I did buy some cracked corn. It's pretty small but not like the actual corn meal. I will soak it and use it as a tea like you recommended and put the rest in my compost pile. Can you use cotton seed meal on your lawn? I have several bags of that as well as a bag or two of potash. I had used these products for some other plants but didn't know about putting some on my lawn.

Yes, any grain meal product is a perfect high nitrogen/protein food source for lawn grass and beneficial soil microbes.
