We are moving in to a home in Georgia and have to get a pine tree removed that is diseased. We will be composting there and before they haul off the tree I wanted to see if I could use it (mulched) in the compost pile or if the diseased material would be harmful to the compost pile. Thanks for any help you can offer.

On the contrary, diseased materials in compost breed the microbes that protect plants from the diseases that are in the compost.
