Post subject:  Compost and no till garden!!!!!!!!!!

After looking over the Captans web sight, I was spured on when my tiller bit the dust. That was all it took for me to have a major brain storm....(Look out) So I decided to approach this garden another way. I just put in 4000 lbs of the best compost I ever made (even sold some) and got it tilled in a clay bed 8 to 10 inches deep, and than no more tiller. So I planted like always and put down lava sand and 4 inches of oak leaves and shreded wood covering the top completely. After covering it I decided to make layers of all things good and organic. I want to get the soil holding water as well as I can before mid summer. Oh already have another 3000 lbs of compost cooking, and just turned it over. I am looking for more bio-matter, always. So if you know where I can get any good stuff put on my trailer please let me know, and of course any sugestions will help.....
Paul
P.S. Every thing planted so far has just snapped to attention and is looking great!

Congratulations!

No-till is no only good for your soil and microbes and earthworms, it's good on your back too!

Happy Gardening!

Thanks Captain, I must tell you I am haveing more fun with my gardening than ever before. I have started selling compost and offering to come and do organic garden beds for the public. So far it is very slow. But I think more and more people will start to see what we see. I cant wait to see your book. Thanks for the inspiration!
God Bless you and your family.

I never thought about it but I never had fun in the garden until I went to organic. Thanks for that insight, Paul.
