new to the forum here. looks like a great source of info. has anyone ever used the drum type spreader for compost for the lawn. its the one that has a door on the drum to add compost and you push it. it looks like a lawn roller. if so how do they work? thanks

When I was a kid in the 60s my dad was a gardener in Palm Springs Ca. We used these all the time. They were either a mesh or had lots of holes. As you push it forward, the compost just falls out evenly. I have been looking for one since I have gone organic but can't find one. Do you know where to get one?

It may seem obvious but they only work if the compost particles are screened much finer than the screen on the roller.
