Post subject:  Patch St Augustine grass

Three years ago I had all St Augustine planted front and back. I now have patches of no grass and strong StA. How do I fix the patches in between. I thought about getting a bunch of sod and cutting it up into quarters and then plant but how long will it take to fill in? Or am I going the right way?

Why do you think you have dead spots? Was it from the drought and not getting water on it? Was it from too much water leading to fungal disease? Grubs or chinch bugs? It will help to know what the problem was, because some of these problems need to be treated before you can hope to reestablish the lawn.

Since most dead grass is caused by too much water, what is your watering schedule? How often and how long do you water?

After 3 weeks and no response, I took care of the issue on my own. I don't know why I ever signed up for this site. No one has answers, only ideas. I will not be renewing. This has gotten to be a joke.
