We have a partially wooded 1 1/2 acre lot. I found a single cane of some sort of rose growing under one of the trees and I'd like to move it to a sunnier spot so see if it'll bloom more. I've never tried to move something like this and I don't want to kill it in the process. Is it too late to move it? Should I just leave it where it is?

I personally wouldn't move it until next January, in the dead of winter when it's dormant. By now its juices are flowing. But no harm in trying I guess - maybe you could trim it back to account for the root loss?
