 Post subject: Help Identify this plant

I was hoping someone might be able to tell me the name of these plants in the photo. The plants on the right side, closest to the house that look almost like grass is what I need help with.

If it pulls away easily from the soil, then no. They can be perennial...but not always. We call it a tender perennial.
