Post subject:  Knock Out Rose - Rosa "Radrazz"

I recently (March 2009) planted 15 of these bushes in my yard. They are in full sun all day and get watered every other day. I tested the soil and it came out high in nutrients and pH of 4. Some are doing will and some are struggling. See attached photos. Any ideas on how to help the struggling ones? I sprayed some Garrett juice on them last weekend and put some all purpose fertilizer on them 3 weeks ago. They just seemed to get worse after the fertilizer 3 weeks ago.
Any help would be appreciated.

I am experiencing the same thing with some of my knockouts this year. Mostly with the older more established plants that are NOT in full sun all day.
I think the yellowing is the same ol' black spot type fungus that all roses get. Maybe knockouts are not so much 'immune' to disease as 'more able to deal with it' lol...
I believe that keeping water off of the leaves and using some fish emulsion as a spray will help the spread of the disease, as well as get all new growth off to a healthy start.
I'm certainly not one of the 'experts' here, but I also imagine that making sure you have a rich organic compost in the beds around the shrubs is also advisable.

NOW, I also have a knockout question: mine have become too large and also have some yellowing leaves.. When is the best time to prune them back? some need heavy pruning...

Thanks!!

water at the base of the plants only. You may get black spot if sprinklers hit the leaves or after a lot of rain.
