In the spring I planted Contender bush beans in the spaces between my tomato cages for their nitrogen production. The bush beans are no longer producing; so which is best to pull up the plants or snip them off at ground level leaving the roots in the ground? |

Legume roots have nodes for nitrogen fixing so if the beans are still alive it wouldn't hurt to leave them in place and let them keep working. |
