Post subject:  Identify these Peppers, please!

Hello fellow gardeners: I thought I was planting bell pepper plants back in late March, along with my tomato plants...But either the tags were switched at the nursery or I just had a brain fart when I bought the peppers. They said 'Giant Marconi' sweet....I wrongly assumed they were bell peppers, saying sweet...so now I have peppers growing that are similar in shape to jalapenos, but much wider and longer. I am being lazy by not researching them at the moment. I am hoping that someone here can tell me what kind of peppers they are. Anyone know and can advise me here? Thanks.....Greenbeans

From the Colorado State Univ. web site:

'Giant Marconi' is an improved Italian grilling pepper. About 6 to 8 inches long, the tapered green pepper will mature to red on the 30 inch plant. 'Giant Marconi' tastes excellent raw but is best when grilled. It has a memorable sweet, smoky flavor. 'Giant Marconi' was judged best in its class for earliness, yield, pepper size and flavor. Plants are resistant to Potato Virus Y and Tobacco Mosaic Virus, which means the plants tend to live longer for an improved yield. Green peppers can be harvested in about 72 days from transplanting.
