Post subject:  Big Fat Ugly Tomatoes

I thought I heart Howard talk about a big fat ugly tomato on last Sunday's morning show. I would like to get some seeds and grow some of these.
Of course I could have heard him say something else.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I love gardening.

Thanks,
Mary Gross,
Springtown

Post subject:  Tomatoes!

There are lots of varieties of big fat, ugly tomatoes that are absolutely delicious. All colors, shapes and sizes in fact, with flavors that run from savory to citrus-y. Look up heirloom tomatoes on pretty much any search engine (google, yahoo, etc.) and/or get a catalog. And don't discount those wonderful grape tomatoes - I had to put in an extra plant this year to have enough to share with my extended family, who were always asking me if I had "extras" to send home with them.

This website is beautiful with lots of pictures and information:

The author (Gary Ibsen) is organic and says so right on the main page. He's called 'The Tomato Man" and he's written some books on the subject. How fun discovering more authors who share our enthusiasm! ENJOY! 8)
