I planted these brocolli plants about three weeks ago and planted some additional seedlings yesterday. I will be harvesting fresh sprouts in about 10 days.
It's not too late for a fall garden even if you haven't prepared a bed. Make a raised bed with all the ammendments we recommend and get yourself some row cover for the nights that drop down to freezing. Nothing is better than your own vegetables. Anyone can do it, reply if you need help.

The sides are 1/2" x 12" wide concrete board and the top 2x4 is untreated spruce. These are the same raised beds you've seen before, nothing is changed.

Those look great! I'm STILL harvesting brocolli, brussell sprouts and more from my fall garden in March! The freezes didn't even phase most of the stuff. Wish I had time to do an early spring garden, but not this year. Maybe a spring/summer harvest mixed into the cottage garden will happen. Nothing like picking flowers and dinner at the same time!
