Our farm is about 9 miles s.w. of Bowie, Texas. We need at least 2 tons of dry molasses. |

I'm not familiar with your area. Try the "where to find" posts in the forum link below. There is a place in Bowie called Nature's Way that might be able to help you. 940-872-4796 http://www.dirtdoctor.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4 |

I can't say much about dry because it is hard to put out, but liguid is a breeze and it is cheap. You can buy the stuff from farm store for $1.00 / gal. At this rate you can rent a sprayer and save money galore. Robert D Bard |

Here's a handy link for U.S. feed store/mill listings: http://www.polocenter.com/health/feedus.htm It focuses on horse feed sources, but I imagine it picks up most livestock feed outlets. I notice that it doesn't seem to list all of the Co-Ops, but it's a good start. Here are some Farmland Co-Op listings that may add to or duplicate some of that information: http://www.farmland.com/news/set.asp#anchor24430 The current bulk wholesale price for liquid livestock feed-grade molasses appears to be around $0.05/lb. in carload lots basis FOB Houston, so $1/gal isn't a bad price--assuming it isn't watered down. A person might be able to get a better local price in barrel quantities. |

My feed store is in Whitesboro Tx and they sell the liquid molasses for $1.00 / gal no matter the seize. I doubt you will find it cheaper unless you buy a carload - little bit hard to handle. This stuff is called catt-lac, it is food grade. Feed stores carry this. Robert D Bard |

We use molasses as a booster for our Nitrogen Fixing Micro-Organisims that are in Micro Grow and to feed the micro-organisims once they are in the ground. Plus it also helps to green up the grass. |
