I transplanted my cabbage plants (4 of them) about a week ago. I live in Oregon, the plants are about a month old. I only have 1 left that has leaves on it, the other 3 just have stems and veins. I have removed the mulch and looked everything over carefully, can't find any critters. What is eating them and will the 3 come back and survive?

Could be a rabbit. Don't know what animals are usually around your area. They probably feed at night. If all the foliage is off the plants, the probably won't make it.

Just for your information. I had something eating my lettuce and thought deer or rabbits so I completely caged them in. That was no help the plants were still being eaten. I set up my game camera and took some very good shots of big, fat, furry rats munching on my veggies. I put some block rat bait in an old milk jug with
an access hole in the bottom and then staked it down and that pretty much took care of them.

Great point Ron. To truly exlude "mamsals"... a person has to use small screenedmesh/wire.

Grasshopper damage can almost pass for deer/rabbit damage (at a quick glance).
