Post subject:  rabbits

I live in town. Wild rabbits are feasting on my front lawn (Bermuda) - I'm virtually certain they're rabbits because they leave me their little presents: rabbit pellets everywhere.

The grass is eaten down to bare spots, plus uneaten grass is turning pale green - yellow and looks stressed.

Does the rabbit urine or feces burn the grass?

How do I repel/eliminate the rabbits? I've tried fox urine extract, red pepper powder, and live trapping (which they don't fall for)?

thanks,

I've heard that rabbit pellets are ready to use as a fertilizer, but don't quote me. The urine should be extremely concentrated and is probably causing the yellowing. Try spraying with molasses or scattering a handful of table sugar on the yellow spots to see if that clears it up. The sugar rebalances the carbon/nitrogen ratio that becomes off balance with the urea in the urine.

Are they only attacking your lawn? Nobody elses?
