top of fire ants - I found a bunch of these swarming underneath my plastic owl I had in the above-ground garden. I simply mixed up orange oil, about an ounce to a gallon of water, and poured generously all over the mound all around, on the sides. None moving in minutes. Then, I took my dried molasses and spread it by hand all over the ground nearby and all over the garden. What that does is go into the ground (when you water it in) and turns on the good microbes who in turn eat the ants! I learned this last summer. Still works. Only found a few tired looking ants with no home since that time. Keep applying the molasses once per month around the areas you expect the ants. Also, the molasses makes beautiful grass, thick green and lush. That was the side-effect of putting this out last summer. That grass is still there now. Was a barron looking area, now lush. So - go get em!
